Sprint

A scope-bound set of committed stories. A sprint is not a calendar window: it closes when its committed scope completes, and the next sprint starts immediately. Its plan — goal, committed stories with points against capacity, stretch, risks — is proposed by the planner and approved by the chief of staff before the scrum master commits it.

Estate surface

The sprint file in the board (kanban/sprints/) enumerates the committed stories and tracks their state; the retrospective filed at sprint close (kanban/retros/) records results against acceptance criteria and turns its action items into backlog stories.

Relations

  • A sprint contains a story — every story in its committed scope, enumerated in the sprint file.

Notes

Capacity is a planning fact, not a promise to the calendar: a directed pull-in can take a sprint over its planning capacity, and the overage is recorded in the sprint file rather than smoothed.
