Skill

A reusable instruction set an agent loads to perform a class of work: a procedure, its guardrails, and its tooling, packaged so any agent serving the right role can execute it the same way. Skills are how method travels between agents without session history.

Estate surface

The skills library is this docsite's docs/15-skills/ category: every skill page carries the four-axis tags plus a roles: field naming the roles it serves, and a provenance note recording its source repository, branch, commit, and path. The generated skills index and per-role manifests are derived from those fields — an agent finds its skills through the manifest for its role, never by crawling the library.

Relations

  • A skill serves a role — the roles named in its roles: field, from the controlled role vocabulary.

Notes

A skill is instruction, not authority: loading one never widens what an agent is authorized to do, and a skill's provenance is part of its record, not metadata to strip.
