Baseline

The accepted reference state that later runs diff against. A baseline is established deliberately — the first full run, accepted as the reference — and changes to it are themselves recorded acts, never silent drift: a diff is only meaningful while the state it reads against is known and fixed.

Estate surface

The SEO agent's baseline crawl (the first full run every later diff reads against, per its work record); sprint baselines in the llm-kanban method (the committed scope a sprint is measured against); the AF program's baseline gate of 2026-10-03.

Relations

  • A baseline asserts no outgoing relations in this phase; it is the object other work reads against, named on the records that establish it.

Notes

The boundary with a receipt: a baseline is a state; a receipt is evidence of an act. A baseline is established by an act (whose evidence may be a receipt), but the baseline itself is the state that stands afterward.
