Role

A chartered function in the fleet: a named bundle of mandate, authority, and method that an agent serves in. The fleet's role vocabulary is closed — the seven framework roles (chief of staff, scrum master, worker, planner, code quality reviewer, security reviewer, sweeper) plus finance — and a new role is a governance change, not a naming choice.

A role exists as its runbook in the fleet repository's docs/runbooks/ and as a value in the controlled vocabularies that reference roles: the fleet registry, each board's kanban/agents.yaml, and the roles: field on skill pages.

Relations​

  • A role is defined by its runbook — the runbook carries the role's mandate, operating primitives, authority, and escalation path.

Notes​

Roles are functions, not agents: several agents of different vendors could serve the same role over time, and the role's definition changes only by revising its runbook.
