Routing Research Requests
Use when the user asks for research, deep research, an evidence-backed report, benchmark or standards analysis, competitive investigation, literature review, or CIS benchmark automation research.
Route substantial research through the dedicated research-coordinator Hermes profile. This includes CIS benchmark automation research, technical feasibility studies, market and competitor research, literature reviews, and reports whose claims must be auditable.
Routing Procedure
- Clarify only if a missing decision materially changes the research mission; otherwise state assumptions and proceed.
- Choose a stable output directory under
/root/Working/Research/<task-slug>/. - Start a new coordinator session; do not resume an unrelated one:
hermes -p research-coordinator chat -q "<complete research mission, acceptance criteria, source constraints, and absolute output directory>"
- Require the coordinator to return stable artifact paths, Level 1 validation status, Level 2 review grade, unresolved issues, and its final synthesis.
- Read the returned artifacts needed to answer the user. Present conclusions directly, with citations and explicit limitations.
The coordinator owns dispatch to artifact-compiler and a fresh rigor-reviewer session. Do not collapse those roles into the default profile merely to save a subprocess.
For a one-line current fact that only needs a direct lookup, use the normal retrieval tool instead. The dedicated workflow applies when the user asks to research, compare, investigate, produce a report, assess a benchmark, or support a consequential decision.
If a named profile is unavailable, report the blocker and use the same role separation with fresh delegated agents; do not silently downgrade the evidence or review gates.
